The
Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has started nomination of candidates for
Members of Parliament, District Chairpersons, as well as Municipality and City
Mayors in preparation for the 2026 general elections.
Wamboga Francis Madoi the FDC registrar
for Mbale City has described the nomination exercise as being peaceful with
several people expected to be nominated. Those nominated so far include
Margaret Wokuri Madanda for the position of Member of Parliament for Industrial
City Division, Harriet Kakayi for Woman Member of Parliament for Mbale City and
Mafabi Sezi for Mayor Northern City Division.
Margaret Wokuri Madanda says that her
election is based on the fact that the people of Industrial City Division need
a leader that can offer quality legislation in Parliament. According to
Madanda, her manifesto is also aimed at empowering the people through
initiatives aimed at improving household income and skilling the young people.
Harriet Kakayi who is vying for the Mbale
City Woman Parliamentary position prides herself as a leader with a wealth of
experience about the issues affecting Mbale City.
