Alcohol Competition Leaves One Dead in Namisindwa.

A boozing competition has left a 26-year-old man dead in Namisindwa District.

 


The deceased has been identified as Wamoka Kusuya, a resident of Bushandu village, Bunambale parish, Tsekululu Sub County in Namisindwa District.

 

A resident of Bushandu village who preferred anonymity says an alcohol drinking competition was organized by a local businessman only identified as Zeki in Busulwa trading centre.

The resident explains that Zeki had staked 10,0000 shillings for anyone who could consume alcohol in record time.

 

This attracted Kiloton Kutosi aged 25, Kusuya Wamoka aged 26 and one only identified as Wamutu aged 37. After consuming five bottles of alcohol, Wamoka collapsed and was taken to Magale Health Centre III but died on the way.

 

Solome Juliet Namara the Namisindwa Deputy Resident District Commissioner confirms the incident and says there is heavy police deployment after getting information that Wamomka’s relatives were planning to attack Zeki’s home.

 

Moses Waburoko the councilor representing Tsekululu Sub county has asked young people to tame their appetite for free food and drinks.

 

Emma Bwayo the Namisindwa district youth male councilor has asked young people productively use their time by working hard in order to boost household income levels.
