Residents of Mukoto Sub-county in Namisindwa District have expressed relief after Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) removed its contested site from Maalo Parish, where it had stood for more than 10 years.

Masika David Nasimolo, one of the affected residents, said the community has suffered for years under UWA with unresolved court cases. He applauded the Namisindwa LCV NRM flag bearer Emma Bwayo for always standing with the people and pushing for a solution.

Another resident, Nasimolo Patrick from Bunsmulunyi, appreciated Bwayo Emma for consistently listening to the community and following up on court proceedings whenever residents were attacked. He noted that Bwayo has raised the matter before the President, which has given the people hope for lasting justice.

In his response, Bwayo Emma, the NRM LCV Flag bearer for Namisindwa, said government is committed to protecting people and their property. He stressed the need for residents living near the national park to meet the President and share their grievances.
