The games included swimming, netball and volleyball. These games were held over the weekend at Nambumali High School in Nabumali town council in Mbale District.

Isaiah Sasaga Wanzira the chairperson of the Bugisu Secondary School Sports Association said that out of the 33 schools, ten schools did not show up. Sasaga says that they notified all head teachers about the games and the need to participate. He says staying away from the games meant that the talent being scouted for was not exhibited by schools that stayed away.

Zubail Baraza the head teacher Lwakhakha secondary school said the lack of funds hampered their plans of participating in the regional games.

In Rugby, Nkoma secondary school won in the girls’ category while Oxford S.S took the boys title.
