A newly born baby abandoned in a sugar plantation in Namabasa
ward in Northern City Division has been rescued.
The baby was rescued by a resident
Namono Sarah who was returning from church service.
According to Namono, an elderly woman
notified her about a baby’s cries from the sugar plantation. On searching,
Namono says the baby was discovered in a manhole. She says the baby was cleaned
and later taken to Namatala Police post.
The baby was taken to Namatala Health
Centre IV but later transferred to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital for better
management.
