gunmen on Monday night attacked the home of a businessman in Bukokho Sub
County, Namisindwa District and went away with over 40 million shillings.
John Wafula the LCIII chairperson of
Bukokho sub county identifies the victim as Robert Buyula of Namagole village,
Sono Parish in Namisindwa District.
Wafula says the gunmen arrived at around
midnight and ordered Buyula to open the door which he did. He says Buyula was
then taken to Bunjosi trading centre where he runs a mpobile money business. He
was ordered to hand over all the money in his possession.
Wafula says despite notifying police in
Bumbo, the thugs were already gone by the time Police arrived. He says the
residents tried to pursue the gunmen in vain.
Rogers Taitika the Elgon region police
spokesman has confirmed the incident saying investigations are underway.
