The Namisindwa District Security Committee has halted all human activities
at Mt. Elgon National Park.
The directive follows
the death of 25 year old Cyrus Webisa, a resident of Mulimani village, Kabole
parish in Bukokho Sub County, Namisindwa District.

residents of Mulimani village says Webisa went to the National Park to burn
charcoal for commercial purposes but was later found dead.

chairperson for Bukokho Sub County says Webisa could have landed into Uganda
Wildlife Authority Rangers and attempted to run away hence falling over a
cliff.
Now Hajji Imran Muluga
the Namisindwa Resident District Commissioner has asked the farmers who
frequent the National Park to stop as security continues to investigate the
cause of Webisa’s death.
The other affected subcounties are Kamu.
Bullengen, Bugaya and Nabbongo all in Bulambuli Subcounty. We managed to rescue
them from the bitter residents who wanted to finish them.
