The Parish Development Model Sacco chairperson for Bubango parish, Buswale Sub County in Namayingo District Aron Okoth is being held on allegations of extortion and sabotage of government programmes.

Okoth was arrested on the orders of the Namayingo Deputy Resident District Commissioner Trevor Solomon Baleke.
Okoth is alleged to have been using his office to extort money from people before they can access funds under the Parish Development Model. He has reportedly been charging between 30,000 to 100, 000 shillings from each PDM beneficiary. It is alleged that those who fail to comply are often not considered.
The Namayingo Deputy RDC Trevor Solomon Baleke says his office has received over 30 complaints against the Sacco leadership.
