Namisindwa Resident District
Commissioner (RDC) Hajji Imran Muluga has called for an audit of the District’s
projects for the financial year 2023/2024.
Speaking at a district address on Friday, Muluga questioned
the legitimacy of several projects mentioned in the District Chairperson’s
report. According to Muluga, despite his office being responsible for
commissioning all projects, they were not aware of many of the projects
mentioned.
Muluga’s call was in response to Namisindwa LCV Jackson
Wakweika’s state of the District address.
Namisindwa District Youth Councilor Emma Bwayo labelled the
report exaggerated citing unfinished and substandard projects. Bwayo cited the
330 million shillings Namikhoma bridge, 60 million shillings Saala bridge and
the Bupoto-Matuwa- Bumbo road projects. He says such issues have negatively
impacted the District performance in the national ratings.
