Police in Mbale city
two people has arrested two people for allegedly attempting to poison a primary
three pupil of North Road Primary School.
The
suspects have been identified as Tony Magudi, 20, and another known only as
Abud, 22. School administrators apprehended the suspects and hunded them over
to the police.
Rogers
Taitika, the Elgon Region Police Spokesperson, says that the two suspects were
purportedly hired by the victim's stepmother to bring poisoned food to the
learner during lunchtime at school.
Police
sources indicate that pupils saw Abud pouring a substance into the food, which
raised their suspicion. The pupils then informed their class teacher, who
subsequently alerted the authorities.
After
refusing to taste the food, the police arrested both suspects and detained them
at Mbale Central Police Station. Police picked up the food samples for further
analysis.
