Bungokho North Member of Parliament Dr. John Faith Magolo has asked the two factions jostling for power in the Bamasaba Cultural Institution to unite for a common goal of development.
The faction under Bugisu Cultural Institution last week announced that Jude Mike Mudoma had been confirmed as the cultural leader. The pronouncement was made at a meeting convened by ex- cultural leader Wilson Wamimbi at Mbale District Council Chambers.
The meeting followed a letter authored by Gender state minister Peace Mutuzo asking Wilson Wamimbi to convene a meeting to sort out the leadership impasse.
The Inzu Ya Masaba Cultural Institution under John Amlam Wagabyalire however distanced itself from Mudoma saying the composition of the delegates and clan chairpersons at the meeting to confirm Mudoma as the new Bamasaba Cultural leader was not legally binding.
Now MP Magolo says that the two leaders should agree on who becomes the Bamasaba Cultural leader so as to promote unity amongst Bamasaba as opposed to continued bickering.
