The
Inspectorate of Government (IGG) has asked the Namisindwa Chief Administrative
Officer to take action against health workers accused of absconding from duty
at Bunambale Health Centre III.
The call comes after officials at the Inspectorate
of Government made an impromptu visit to Bunambale Health Centre Health Centre
III in Tsekululu Sub County, Namisindwa District and no medical worker to
attend to the patients.
Dina Nabirye the IGG Tororo regional head in a
meeting with Sub County chiefs and other District leaders in Namisindwa
District said that action must be taken against civil servants absconding from
work. According to Nabirye, absconding from duty is another form of corruption
since public officials are paid for no work done.
Jackson Wakweika the Namisindwa LCV Chairperson
blames the LCIII Chairpersons and other political leaders for failing in their
supervisory role leading to the intervention of the IGG.
