Mbale
City Woman legislator Connie Nakayenze Galiwango has announced that she will
seek re-election.
Addressing journalists at
deliverance church in Mbale City on Sunday, MP Nakayenze dismissed allegations
that she at one time announced that she will not be seeking re-election.
Nakayenze accused her opponents of spreading a false narrative in a bid to gain
public sympathy.
According to Nakayenze the silence
was due to the trauma she underwent following the death of her husband, Dr.
Hassan Wassawa Galiwango and an election petition against her victory.
She announced that she will be
contesting as an independent candidate, a reason she decided not to take part
in the NRM primaries.
