The suspected thug
whose name has not been divulged was apprehended by residents of Napoli Upper
ward in Industrial City Division.
An eye witness says
it all started when a group of four suspected thugs armed with machetes raided
the home of one of the residents. With local police reportedly unable to
respond to the attack, the residents organized themselves to thwart the attack.
Steven Lukoye, a
resident of White Cell says they managed to apprehend one of the suspected
thugs while the others escaped. The suspect was handed over to Nauyo police and
later transferred to Central Police Station in Mbale City.
Stephen Wakholi, a
local leader says the limited police manpower at Nauyo Police Post cannot
enable effective security management of the area.
