A section of leaders have
praised the late Dr. Hassan Wasswa Galiwango for living an exemplary life and
mentoring many people.
Dr. Galiwango who was Uganda’s
ambassador to Kenya passed in a
hospital in Kenya’s Capital Nairobi where he was rushed on Thursday last week
when his condition deteriorated. Galiwango,
who has been battling heart complications was initially admitted at Mulago
National Specialized Hospital.
Budadiri West Member of Parliament
Nathan Nandala Mafabi said Dr. Galiwango’s contribution was evident through
education, infrastructure and participation in peace talks among others.
Nandala says the late Galiwango strengthened adherence to the rule of law,
political tolerance and the spirit of humanity.
Simon Mulongo the former
Member of Parliament for Bubulo East in Namisindwa District described Dr.
Galiwango as one of the best cadres in Bugisu and it is unfortunate that he is
no more.
Musa
Kasaja the Industrial City Division Speaker described Galiwango as a person who
did not tolerate corruption. According to Kasajja, Galiwango also mentored many
political leaders in Bugisu and at national level.
Rogers Mulindwa, a senior communications
manager for the ruling National Resistance Movement says at the time Dr.
Galiwango was the NRMs Director, Finance and Administration, he encouraged
dialogue and genuinely served the party.
