This plan was revealed by John Musila the BCU Vice Chairperson at a meeting for Lwakhakha zone at Chebukube Guesthouse on Sunday.

Musila, also the Member of Parliament for Bubulo East, said that BCU plans to renovate at least two primary societies per zone starting next financial year. Musila says the renovations will be funded with proceeds from BCU coffee sales. He urged farmers to entrust their coffee with BCU so as to get better services and benefits.

Robert Wanzusi, a coffee farmer welcomed the initiative but urged the union to develop strategies to counter competition from multinational companies, which continue to offer better prices and farm inputs.

Barbra Wasagali the BCU General Manager stated that all concerns will be addressed during the upcoming annual general meeting scheduled for April 4, 2025, at the factory headquarters.
