Namisindwa Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Elija Madoi has called for appropriate action against teachers and parish chiefs involved in a Parish Development Model (PDM) scandal.
On Monday, a list of 575 teachers in government aided schools who irregularly received one million shillings under the Parish Development Model programme was released.
Mathias Isabirye the Namisindwa Deputy Chief Administrative Officer tasked the concerned teachers to refund the money with interest.
According to RDC Madoi, some parish chiefs colluded with PDM Chairpersons at parish and village level to include teachers in government aided schools in the programme. Madoi says that action needs to be taken against the parish chiefs and teachers to serve as an example.
