Authorities in Mbale City have interdicted Alfred Ochieng, the senior veterinary officer for Northern City Division over allegations of promoting illegal meat.
Mbale City Deputy Clerk Jolly Hasoho says Ochieng's interdiction follows his alleged continued practice of stamping illegally sourced meat after taking bribes. Hasoho adds that investigations will be conducted, and if found culpable, he will be dismissed.
The interdiction comes on the heels of an operation conducted on illegal meat and fake stamps which resulted into arrests, prosecutions and impounding and burning of meat.
